Effective and maintenance-free, a chlorinator is a durable and corrosion-resistant automatic chlorine or bromine dispenser ideal for new or existing pools: it works with your pump and filtration system. Installed on the pool’s water return line, a chlorinator provides a steady stream of sanitation products through the flow of the filter pump. The device contains a reserve of chlorine pellets which must be refilled occasionally.
The chlorinator should be installed after the water heater on the water line; if there is no water heater, it should be located after the filtration system. When winterizing the pool, you must drain the water from the chlorinator.
